Performing Arts lie at the heart of the school, providing students with a wide variety of activities and experiences throughout the day. The annual production has over 120 students taking part each year both acting on stage and behind the scenes. The new theatre facilities and dance, music and drama areas have industry standard equipment which has enhanced the provision we can offer. Dance groups range from boys’ break dancing to ballet, choir groups and musical groups are part of the daily experiences students can take part in. All students at Key Stage 3 study dance, music and drama with many students opting to take these subjects into Key Stage 4 and beyond.
Surveys tell us that our students enjoy being at school and feel safe and supported. The students are an important part of our community and have their own Teaching and Learning Council and Eco Council run by them. They have taken part in training staff in order to improve lesson delivery and in fund raising for many local charities raising well over £10,000 in a year. Relationships between staff and pupils are outstanding.
