| Year 7 Trip to Leicester Space Centre |

Every June the Science Department at The Avon Valley School take 34 students to the National Space Centre in Leicester. Students are nominated by their Science Teachers and invited to attend the trip.
In 2009 the Year 7 students took part in RENDEVOUS WITH A COMET! They were involved in many fun and exciting activities designed to test their skills not only in Mission Control but also on their Space Ship on its journey to meet COMET AVS, which the students got to name. Throughout the mission students have to use Maths, English, ICT and Science based skills to ensure the mission will be a success. |
